This cupboard is lavishly painted in a style prevalent in the latter half of the 18th century. The Four Seasons, each personified by the figure of a woman with an attribute and a putto, adorn the door panels; below each allegorical representation is a motto. The signature indicates that the cupboard was made in Elbach and painted in Glonn, about 30 kilometres away.
