Giambologna (1529–1608) is considered the leading master of Mannerism in Medici Florence. With his dynamic compositions, the Flemish-born sculptor shaped the art of sculpture in the late Renaissance and beyond. Bronzes in our collection provide an overview of his epoch-making oeuvre, which ranged from monumental marble sculptures to small-format bronzes for the princely cabinets of art and curiosities.
