For more than half a century, the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum has received financial and non-material support from its Freundeskreis (Friends of the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum). It funds the acquisition of high-ranking works of art, research projects, exhibitions and restoration projects as well as numerous other tasks and activities of the museum.
The commitment of our Friends secures the present and represents a decisive contribution to the future of the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum. At the same time, the Freundeskreis brings together people interested in art and cultural history who are committed art lovers and partners of the museum in society.

For many decades, the members of the Bayerisches Nationmusem have united people interested in art and cultural history who regularly visit the museum and appreciate its varied programme of events.
With their annual membership fee, members support the museum in selected tasks. In addition, they support the museum ideally because they act as ambassadors for the museum in public.
