The reference library of the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum is open to all interested visitors. This specialised library complements the museum’s holdings and provides literature for their exploration.
Currently the collections consist of around 100,000 works and 300 running journals on the art and art history of Europe from the decline of the middle ages to the beginning of the 20th century, folklore, and bavarian regional history. Together with a large collection of auction catalogues this enables in-depth research into artists, collections, and exhibitions of important European museums as well as the results of well-known auction houses.
The reading room is equipped with electrical connections for laptops and a colour copier / scanner (please bring your own USB stick).
