Description

Duke Albrecht of Bavaria only invited a select few to his virtual tours of the residential cities of Altbayern (Old Bavaria) ? Straubing, Munich, Landshut, Ingolstadt and Burghausen ? in his ducal Kunstkammer. Today, this worldwide unique ensemble of city models can be admired by the public. The model of Munich is an amazingly accurate representation of a city that at the time essentially still had a medieval housing stock. Despite profound changes, residents and visitors will recognise many of the most prominent buildings such as the Frauenkirche and the Residenz, the city gates, the large squares such as Marienplatz, and the unaltered course of most streets and alleyways.
