Jugendstil

Jugendstil

The spectrum of the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum’s Jugendstil collection extends into the early 20th century. The core of the collection consists of works of the floral style which reached its peak and became most widespread in France under the name Art Nouveau.
The collection comprises objects of high artistic quality and craftsmanship from the most important centres of this artistic movement in Europe and the United States. Highlights include the works of glass art from the École de Nancy and, in particular, the exquisite creations of the Parisian jewellery artists René Lalique, Lucien Gaillard and Léopold Gautrait.
