Clocks and scientific instruments

The clock collection is one of the most important in Germany. Numerous wheel clocks and sundials were made during the golden age of southern German clockmaking in the 16th and 17th centuries. These are followed by magnificent 18th century clocks from princely collections. The monumental grand clock from Augsburg, covered with silver reliefs, a joint work of various artisans for the Bavarian Elector Max Emanuel is sensational.
The representative scientific instruments such as planetariums, globes and physical apparatus are particularly impressive.
