The little gold-mounted porcelain coffer holds utensils for measuring and pouring scent as well as receptacles for storing beauty patches. The porcelain pieces are painted in the characteristic Du Paquier style with foliage, strapwork and diaperwork as well as colourful arrangements of fruits and Indian Flowers. The scent set comes from the Hermitage in St Petersburg and is said to have been a present from the Emperor Karl VI to the Tsarina Anna Ivanovna.
